Health Equity Outreach Project

We plan to connect with health care providers, P-12 school district personnel, community center staff, Scholar House staff, social service agency staff, African American and Latino churches and other community organizations in the African American and Latin communities to work with as community engagement and outreach partners as it relates to health equity in underserved communities across Northern Kentucky. In addition we plan to use traditional advertising through quarterly television and radio commercials as well as providing advertisements on the Bowles Center for Diversity’s website.

We are breaking down all barriers to securing healthcare education outreach. For example, as we organize an outreach program in Elsmere, Kentucky we will coordinate with the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky and local Churches to transport residents to and from healthcare community outreach events. We have found that transportation has been a barrier for the underserved communities to access better health care. Our goal is to continue to build trust in the communities we serve.
